THE GATE is an art walk with audio library that invites visitors to experience Hamburg’s vision of the 'gateway to the world' from new perspectives. From 4 June 2021, some sixteen art installations and a programme of site-specific podcasts at Hamburg’s HafenCity will offer visitors the opportunity to gain some deeper insights into the fabric of this up-andcoming urban district. While the art walk focuses on the gateway metaphor with its obvious and less obvious connotations, the audio library allows a look at both prominent and otherwise neglected areas of the urban landscape.

The IMAGINE THE CITY programme has been made possible through funding from HafenCity Hamburg GmbH und den Mondrian Fonds.
